Miss McKeating

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Miss McKeating and I have recently joined the Montreal Church of England School family in September. I have been teaching for over 7 years in various different schools . I love teaching and being given the opportunity to impart knowledge to children. I love to make learning exciting, memorable and above all else, suited to each and every child. I can’t wait to make some amazing memories with you all this year.  When I am at home, I love to look after the dogs that I foster, walking and spending time with my family.

Looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces.

Tapestry

I have set up all the children that I had forms for on Tapestry.  You should have received an activation email.  If your child already has siblings in the school you can continue to use your current log in details.

Tapestry is a great way to show you, as parents all the exciting learning the children have been getting involved in.  It is also a great way of keeping in touch.  I would also love to see photos of what the children get up to at home and how they like to spend their free time.  Please upload pictures and comment anytime you want.

If you have not received an email or would like help logging on please let me know.

P.E Days and Forest School

To support our experiential learning, every Friday morning Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children will have a Forest School Morning. They are to come to school every Friday wearing old clothing appropriate for the weather. They are to bring their full school uniform (including shoes) to get changed into at dinner time and a plastic bag which the children will put their muddy clothes into. Forest school will count as one of the children's PE sessions.

The children in Miss McKeating's class will have their other PE session on Wednesdays and will need to bring in their full school PE kit.

The Reception children in Miss McKeating's class also have an additional forest school session on a Tuesday afternoon at Longlands. Children are to bring their Forest School clothes with them on a Tuesday to change into after dinner.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to come and chat to us.

Forest School

Please send the children in old, warm clothes that will be ok to get muddy.  Children should wear wellies and waterproofs if possible.  However, we do have some waterproofs and wellies in the forest school.

The children will then get changed into their school uniforms at dinner time.  It is advisable that they bring a plastic carrier bag to put all their forest school clothing into.

Starting in September

Hello,

I hope you have all had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to starting your new adventure.

I can’t wait to meet you all properly.

A few things to mention for parents:

  • Doors will open at 8:45am and they will be adults on site that can guide you in the correct direction.
  • We ask that all parents leave their children at the door before entering the cloakroom. This is for two reasons. Firstly, the cloakroom is quite small and we still need to be mindful of coronavirus. Secondly, last year we found the children settled much better this way.
  • All children will be in school for the full day. This has worked well for the past few years.

I am sure many of you are getting anxious about your child’s next step. Please do not hesitate to contact me  if you have any questions, worries or concerns.
