Caring, Loving and Learning Together β€œLove the Lord God with all your heart, all your strength and all your mind”

Year 4

πŸ’«  'Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet.

Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the Universe exist.

Be curious.

And however difficult life may seem,

there is always something you can do and succeed at' - Stephen Hawking πŸ’‘

Welcome to Year 4, here you will see some wonderful photos of our class learning, facing new challenges and most importantly...having fun in lessons! πŸ˜„

For the rest of this half term, our Geography topic is the incredible country Italy, and our Science topic is all about Sound! We will be continuing Fractions and Decimals within Maths and adapting Pie Corbett’s mysterious narrative ‘Kidnapped’ in Literacy!

P.E afternoons - Tuesday & Thursday

Year 4 Homework and Spellings will be uploaded onto Google Classroom every Friday, but you can also look at the homework/spellings on the pages below.

It is important that children read at least three times a week with their reading record signed. Remember your child can read any books from home and also read books on MyOn.

Don't forget about the Kids' Zone. Play games and visit some cool websites. You can vote for your favourites. πŸ‘πŸ»

βœ–οΈπŸ’Montreal Maths Dayβž—πŸ“

What a fantastic time we have had this week back in school and to finish it off we had a Maths Day! As a class we played Maths Jenga, classic board games, created Maths Fortune Tellers, estimated how many dice, cubes and paintbrushes were in the tubs (one of us won a prize for the best estimation), we played the ‘bean bag’ game with an addition twist outside, interactive Maths games such a TTRS and ‘Hit the Button’ and to end the day we took part in an Orienteering task... PE, Geography and Maths all in one!

🌲🌧 Forest School & Science Week πŸ§¬πŸ’«

We are so lucky to have our Forest School day the week we come back to school. We created bird houses, went on scavenger hunts, created nests which linked to Science Week and also had a lot of fun in the pouring rain! It was British Science Week, we created ‘exploding lunch bags’, took part in a Chromatography partner task, watched how milk can turn into a rainbow and used corn flour to create ‘quick sand’. This week was all about having fun with Science and thinking about innovating ideas and what amazing ideas British Scientists have discovered over the years! There isn’t many photos of Science Week in Year 4 as we were having way too much fun with Miss Bragg!

🌈 Staying safe and having fun! 😁

Miss. Bragg has been so proud of us since we stared back. Each and everyday we have been trying so hard to keep our distance/staying safe from each other, but it’s so important to remember to have fun and smile during school.
So here we are with the Year 3’s at lunchtime, playing some racing games. It was so much fun, Mrs. McGill kept making us laugh! We didn’t even realise Miss. Bragg was recording us! πŸ˜„πŸ“Ή
